The seal in the hydraulic pump on my Kubota B6200 failed and a large amount of hydro fluid ended up in the crank case. The pump shaft seal was replaced and all fluid changed. Does the hydraulic pump need to be primed before starting the tractor?

I normally add oil to it before connecting the lines. A little heavier oil is perfered but the hydraulic fluid will work. ....

If you don't prime it, it will instantly be wiped out before it has a chance to suck oil from the reservoir. Been there done that. ....
